According to reports received by the Karoon Human Rights Organization, the death sentence of Emad Mirdourghi, a prisoner from Salehiyeh in Andimeshk, was carried out on Wednesday, September 23, 2026, at Fajr Prison in Qonaitreh (Dezful).
Emad Mirdourghi, 28, was arrested approximately 10 years ago at the age of 18 on a murder charge and was subsequently sentenced to death by the judicial authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran. In recent days, efforts were made to obtain the victim’s family’s consent and prevent the execution, but these efforts were unsuccessful.
In the early hours of Wednesday, at around midnight, Emad Mirdourghi’s family and relatives also gathered outside Dezful Prison and called for the execution to be halted. However, the victim’s next of kin refused to grant their consent, and the death sentence was ultimately carried out.
