Shargh News Agency has reported that following the January 2026 protests, at least nine licensed attorneys have been arrested in various cities across Iran. Several of the detained lawyers have reportedly been denied formal access to their clients’ case files.

- Shima Ghosheh
- Mohammad Hadi Jafarpoor
- Mehdi Ansari
- Jafar Zareii
- Mehran Ansari
- Jafar Keshavarz
- Nazanin Baradaran
- Enayatollah Karamati
- Omid Darabi
Locations of arrests:
- Tehran: 2 lawyers
- Shiraz: 6 lawyers
- Mashhad: 1 lawyer
Additionally, reports indicate that other lawyers have been summoned in recent days. Human rights observers warn that these actions represent increasing pressure on the legal profession and pose a serious threat to the right to legal defense and access to justice.
