Political Prisoner Mokhtar Al-Bushoukeh Ends Hunger Strike After 19 Days Amid Health Concerns

According to reports received by Karoon Human Rights Organization, Mokhtar Al-Bushoukeh, a political prisoner, ended his hunger strike on Friday, October 23, after 19 days, following promises from relevant authorities to address his demands. However, he remains unable to consume food due to severe gastrointestinal issues resulting from the hunger strike. During this period, Al-Bushoukeh has lost 10 kilograms.

Al-Bushoukeh began his hunger strike on October 6 in protest against the failure of security officials to transfer him from Arak Prison to Sheiban Prison in Ahwaz.

The health condition of this political prisoner is described as concerning due to multiple illnesses, including kidney problems and hernia. According to information from the Karoon Human Rights Organization, despite his urgent need for medical care, he continues to be deprived of access to appropriate and specialized healthcare services.
