According to reports received by the Karun Human Rights Organization, in the early hours of Wednesday, January 7, two Arab prisoners from Qanitra (Dezful), Karim Bozarkar, 39, and Mohammad Julaei, were executed in Dezful Prison. Both had previously been arrested on charges of intentional murder and sentenced to death. Karim Bozarkar had been detained for approximately six years, while Mohammad Julaei had been held for about three years.
Additionally, in the early hours of Tuesday, January 6, three other Arab prisoners were executed in Sepidar Ahwaz Prison: Moslem Hajibabayi, 39, and a resident of Ahwaz; Mohammad Yarahzadeh, 36, also from Ahwaz; and Abdolnoor Shabani, from Mashour (Mahshahr). According to reports, Moslem Hajibabayi had been detained for about five years, Mohammad Yarahzadeh for four years, and Abdolnoor Shabani for approximately four years, all on charges of intentional murder.
Human rights sources have stated that the continuation of executions in the Ahwaz region has raised growing concerns about human rights conditions and the judicial process in this area.
