Karim Mojaddam was married and the father of four children—three sons and one daughter. He had been arrested approximately four years ago in connection with a murder case and was subsequently sentenced to death.
According to information received, Nemat Maqami, a 32-year-old resident of Ahwaz, was also executed at Sepidar Prison in Ahwaz on the morning of Wednesday, September 16, 2026. He had been sentenced to qisas (retribution in kind) on charges of intentional murder.
According to an informed source, Nemat Maqami had been arrested approximately four years ago and accused of killing a person using a hunting rifle.

According to the annual report of Iran Human Rights, at least 747 people were executed in Iran in 2025 on murder charges, marking the highest annual number of qisas executions recorded since 2010.
