Suspicious Death of Law Enforcement Officer in Ahwaz Following 20 Days in Custody

According to reports received by the Karun Human Rights Organization, Captain “Mansour Dahimi“, an officer of Iran’s Law Enforcement Forces (FARAJA), died under suspicious circumstances after being detained by the Intelligence Protection Organization of the Ahwaz Police.

Mansour Dahimi, born in 1981, was a resident of Al-Jalizi village in Khafajieh (Maysan). He was married and the father of three children. He was arrested on November 22, 2025, and remained in custody for approximately 20 days.

Based on available information, following a serious deterioration in his physical condition, Captain Dahimi was transferred to a hospital at around 5:00 a.m. on December 11, 2025. According to informed sources, he was taken to the medical facility while his hands and feet were restrained with handcuffs. He ultimately died in the early hours of Friday, December 12, 2025.

To date, no transparent, independent, or official explanation has been provided by relevant authorities regarding the circumstances of his detention, the cause of his medical decline, or the exact manner of his death.

According to statements from Dahimi’s family, officials informed them that the cause of death was a heart attack and kidney failure. However, the family firmly disputes this account, emphasizing that he had no prior history of heart disease or serious medical conditions and was in good health prior to his arrest.

The lack of accountability and the absence of an independent investigation have raised serious concerns regarding potential mistreatment or medical neglect during detention.
