According to reports received by the Karun Human Rights Organization, on Wednesday, 21 Aban (11 November 2025), the Supreme Court confirmed the double death sentences of Masoud Jamei and Alireza Mardasi (Hamidavi), two Arab citizens from Ahwaz, and Farshad Etemadifar from Kohgiluyeh and Boyer-Ahmad Province. These rulings were communicated to the prisoners through their lawyers and the official judicial notification system (Sana).
In the same case, two other defendants, Saman Hormatnejad and Davood Hormatnejad, had previously been sentenced to 12 years and 15 years of imprisonment, respectively.
Reports indicate that the confirmation of the death sentences for these three political prisoners was carried out through an unusually rapid and exceptional process.
Masoud Jamei, Alireza Mardasi (Hamidavi), and Farshad Etemadifar, who are currently held in Ward 5 of Sheiban Prison in Ahwaz, were originally sentenced on 23 Tir 1404 (14 July 2025) by Branch One of the Ahwaz Revolutionary Court, presided over by Judge Ehsan Adibimehr, to two death sentences and one year of imprisonment each.
According to the issued verdict, the charges against these three prisoners included “corruption on earth (efsad fi-al-arz), membership in anti-state rebel groups, propaganda against the system, and conspiracy/coordination”.
Sources familiar with the case told the Karun Human Rights Organization that the judicial process for these defendants violated basic principles of fair trial, including lack of effective access to legal counsel, security pressures, and coerced confessions.
