Mohammad-Jaafar Armishi Transferred to Hospital Due to Critical Health Condition

Mohammad-Jaafar Armishi, also known as “Hamid Jaderi” and “Abu Tariq,” an Ahwazi Arab civil activist, was transferred from Ward 5 of Sheiban Prison in Ahwaz to a hospital on Tuesday, 31 September 2026, due to a serious deterioration in his health, according to reports received by the Karoon Human Rights Organization.

Hamid Jaderi had been transferred to Ward 5 of Sheiban Prison after spending more than three months in detention at a Ministry of Intelligence detention facility. After approximately 10 hours in the hospital, he was returned to prison without having fully recovered.

According to the report, Hamid Jaderi was transferred to Sheiban Prison while his family had remained unaware of his whereabouts and condition for months and had been deprived of information about his fate.

Hamid Jaderi, approximately 60 years old, had previously been arrested because of his civil and political activities and has spent years in Karun and Sheiban prisons in Ahwaz.

From 2011 to 2017, he was detained on charges including “acting against national security” and “contact with foreign entities,” and spent approximately six years in Karun and Sheiban prisons in Ahwaz.

The Karoon Human Rights Organization stresses that the authorities at Sheiban Prison and the security agencies bear direct responsibility for protecting the life and health of this Ahwazi Arab civil activist. The organization considers preventing him from completing his medical treatment and returning him prematurely to prison to constitute a serious violation of his rights and a deliberate endangerment of a prisoner’s life.
