Three Arab Brothers from Fallahieh Arrested by IRGC Intelligence

According to reports published by Ahwazi human rights activists, in the early hours of Sunday, August 9, 2026, three Arab brothers from Fallahieh (Shadegan)—Jihad Shavardi, 40; Bagher Shavardi, 28; and Fouad Shavardi, 26—were arrested by agents of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) Intelligence Organization.

According to the report, intelligence agents raided the brothers’ home in central Fallahieh, arrested them, and transferred them to an undisclosed location.

As of the time of publication, no information is available regarding the reasons for their arrests, any possible charges against them, or their whereabouts. Their families have also received no information about their condition.

Jihad, Bagher, and Fouad Shavardi, who are Sunni Muslims, have previously been arrested and imprisoned.

The Karoon Human Rights Organization condemned the arrest of the three citizens and called for their situation to be clarified, their place of detention to be disclosed, and for them to be granted immediate access to their families and lawyers, with their legal rights fully respected. The organization stressed that no citizen should be arrested or prosecuted solely because of their religious beliefs or peaceful religious activities.
