According to reports from Ahwazi human rights sources, Hossein Ghawi (Silawi), a 28-year-old resident of the Zargan area in northern Ahwaz, lost his life after being detained by forces of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC).
He was arrested at his workplace, a tea stall, and was accused of filming bombed areas and maintaining contact with foreign entities. Local sources reported that Hossein Ghawi was subjected to torture during his detention, which ultimately led to his death.
Hossein Ghawi had a physical disability affecting his leg and was the sole breadwinner of his family, supporting them through his work at the tea stall.
This incident comes amid an intensified security atmosphere and an increasing wave of arrests and pressure on civilians in various regions, including the Ahwaz region, particularly in the context of ongoing conflict and unrest.
