According to received reports, Paria Qalavand, a 23-year-old university student from Salehiyeh (Andimeshk), was shot and killed on Friday in the city of Parand by direct fire from sniper units of the Islamic Republic’s security forces.
Local sources state that this citizen from the Ahwaz region (Khuzestan Province) was targeted by gunfire from Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps forces during protests and was killed as a result of her injuries.
The killing of Paria Qalavand represents yet another instance of the lethal use of firearms against unarmed protesters during recent peaceful demonstrations.
