According to received reports, Ehsan Toofan, born in 1985 and the father of a three-year-old daughter, was killed during protests in the city of Bandar Abbas after being shot directly by security forces in the area near the Islamic Republic of Iran Broadcasting (IRIB) building.
Local sources report that he was shot from behind, with the bullet striking his head and neck, resulting in his death. To date, no official explanation has been provided regarding the use of live ammunition against him or the identity of those responsible for the shooting.
Ehsan Toofan’s body was ultimately buried in Anbarabad, Jiroft.
The killing of Ehsan Toofan is another example of the lethal use of firearms against unarmed civilians during recent protests, a pattern that has raised growing concerns about violations of the right to life, official concealment, and the impunity of perpetrators of violence.
