According to reports received by the Karoon Human Rights Organization, Jassem Touriat, an Ahwazi Arab citizen and former religious prisoner, turned himself in to the Intelligence Organization of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) after security forces threatened to seal his shop and freeze his bank accounts.
According to the report, Jassem Touriat fled the area following a raid by IRGC Intelligence forces on the village of Aboudeh. Security forces subsequently pressured him by threatening to seal his shop and freeze his bank accounts, eventually forcing him to report to the IRGC Intelligence Organization.
Meanwhile, the whereabouts of Mostafa Cheldawi, Khaled Gharbawi, Jafar Cheldawi, Abbas Heidari, and Ebrahim Hamdani remain unknown. They were arrested during the IRGC Intelligence raid on Aboudeh.
According to the report, Reza Sawari, Loghman Batrani, and Kamal Batrani have been transferred to Sheiban Prison in Ahwaz.
The Karoon Human Rights Organization previously reported that 13-year-old Ali Cheldawi, a sixth-grade student who was arrested alongside his father, Mostafa Cheldawi, was released from Fajr Prison in Ahwaz.
During the operation, at least 12 Ahwazi Arab Sunni citizens were arrested on religious grounds and transferred to undisclosed locations.
The Karoon Human Rights Organization calls for the immediate release of all detainees, the disclosure of their places of detention, and information regarding their condition and fate.
