Forough Khosravi, an elementary school teacher with a Ph.D. in Education from Behbahan, has been sentenced by the Revolutionary Court to 15 years in prison.
According to HRANA, the verdict was issued one day after her trial at Branch 1 of the Behbahan Revolutionary Court. Khosravi was convicted on charges of “propaganda against the regime,” “communication with media outlets affiliated with Israel,” “insulting the Supreme Leader,” “insulting the founder of the Islamic Republic,” and “insulting sacred values.”
A knowledgeable source stated that most of these charges are based on personal text messages and several old Instagram stories.
Forough Khosravi was arrested in August by IRGC intelligence agents and was released from Sepidar Prison in Ahwaz after 11 days on bail of 2 billion tomans.
If the sentence is upheld in the appeals stage, under Article 134 of the Islamic Penal Code, five years of the prison term will be enforceable.
