Early on Saturday, November 28, 2025 (8 Azar 1404), another prisoner was executed in Dezful Prison. The individual has been identified as Marwan Jaberi, who had previously been arrested on murder charges and sentenced to death by a criminal court.
Despite the execution, as of this report, none of the responsible authorities or prison officials have formally confirmed the execution.
Annual statistics for the period between October 10, 2024, and October 8, 2025, indicate that at least 1,537 individuals were executed in Iranian prisons—a significant increase of approximately 86% compared to the same period the previous year. However, only around 6% of these executions were officially reported, highlighting the persistent lack of transparency and widespread secrecy in the implementation of the death penalty in Iran.
