According to reports received by the Karoon Human Rights Organization, the death sentence of Mohammad Obayat, a 27-year-old Ahwazi Arab man previously convicted of murder, was carried out at dawn on Saturday, 6 June 2026, in Sepidar Prison in Ahwaz.
Mohammad Obayat was arrested three years ago following a fatal altercation and was subsequently sentenced to death by the Iranian judiciary.
Reports indicate that he was the only son in his family and, following the death of his father several years earlier, had assumed full responsibility for supporting his family as its sole breadwinner. Despite these circumstances, his death sentence was upheld by the Supreme Court of the Islamic Republic of Iran and carried out in the early hours of Saturday, 6 June.
