Jassem Khasreji (Chenani), a 38-year-old Arab citizen from the Seyed Karim (Ain Do) area of Ahwaz Central District, was arrested by the Cyber Police (FATA) during the 40-day war between the United States and Iran in Esfand 1404 (February–March 2026).
Khasreji is married and has three children. Following his arrest, he was transferred to a detention facility operated by intelligence forces. According to human rights activists who spoke to the Ahwaz Wave channel, he was subjected to physical and psychological pressure and torture during his detention before being transferred to Central Prison of Ahwaz, commonly known as Sheiban Prison.
He is currently being held in Ward 5 of the prison.
According to the report, Khasreji was formally charged and tried at the Revolutionary Court in Ahwaz on the charge of “acting against national security.” He is currently awaiting the issuance of a verdict.
During the 40-day war between Iran and the United States, a large number of citizens—including protesters, civil, cultural and religious activists, social media users, and individuals with previous political or security-related cases—were subjected to summonses, threats, and arrest.
The Karoon Human Rights Organization condemns the arrest of Jassem Khasreji and any use of torture or physical and psychological pressure against him. The organization calls for respect for his legal rights, access to a fair and transparent judicial process, and an end to the arbitrary detention of citizens.
