According to human rights sources, Abdali (Daghagheleh), 35 years old and a resident of Ahwaz, was arrested by security forces in February 2025. In July 2025, he was sentenced by Branch 1 of the Ahwaz Revolutionary Court, presided over by Ehsan Adibimehr, to death and 15 years of discretionary imprisonment on charges of “connection with organisations outside the country.”

Reza Abdali is currently being held under poor conditions in Ward 8 of Sheiban (Central) Prison in Ahwaz. Sources close to his family have reported that he was subjected to severe pressure and threats during interrogation and was denied access to an independent lawyer.
