Hadiyeh Kimiaei, an independent journalist, announced on her account on the social media platform X that Beeta Shafiei, the teenage daughter of Maryam Abbasi-Nikou, a resident of Shahin-Shahr, was arrested at dawn on Thursday, 22 Aban 1404 (12 November 2025).
According to this report, security forces arrested Beeta Shafiei at around 4:00 am in Mohammera (Khorramshahr).
Her mother, Maryam Abbasi-Nikou, was also arrested four days earlier in Shahin-Shahr. The mother and daughter have previously faced arrest due to their civil activism and efforts to follow up on social and community-related demands.
They have repeatedly stated that, like many Iranian citizens, they are simply seeking the basic conditions necessary for an ordinary life in Iran.
Beeta Shafiei was also arrested in 2022 (1401) during protests related to the mass poisoning of students in Shahin-Shahr and was later released. Maryam Abbasi-Nikou likewise has a history of arrest and judicial pressure due to her civil activities.
