According to reports published by Ahwazi human rights activists, Ahmad Heydari, 37, married and father of one child, and a resident of Sabah Neighborhood in Ahwaz, was arrested on Saturday, September 19, 2026, by forces of Iran’s Intelligence Department at his father’s home and transferred to an undisclosed location.
According to information received, Ahmad Heydari had traveled to the Kurdistan Region of Iraq approximately two years ago for employment. While there, he married, found work, and lived in the region.
After returning to Ahwaz to visit his mother, Heydari was arrested by forces of Iran’s Intelligence Department.
There is currently no precise information regarding the reasons for his arrest, any charges brought against him, or his place of detention.
The Karoon Human Rights Organization calls for the immediate disclosure of Ahmad Heydari’s place of detention, clarification of the reasons for his arrest, access to his family and legal counsel, and full respect for his legal rights.
