Rouhollah Karki, a political prisoner sentenced to death in Sheiban Prison, Ahwaz, announced in an audio message that his legal case, along with his appeals, has been sent from the First Branch of the Revolutionary Court of Ahwaz to the Supreme Court.
In this message, Karki described the reports from the Abolfazl Security Headquarters in Khuzestan, which he claims were the basis for his death sentence, as “fabricated and delusional,” and he rejected all the charges against him.
This political prisoner, who has endured approximately a year and a half of imprisonment and pressure on himself and his family, stated, “Now I walk innocently to the final altar of this injustice.”
Karki had previously been sentenced to death by the Revolutionary Court of Ahwaz on charges including “corruption on earth” and “waging war against God.” The issuance of this sentence has raised serious concerns about his fate and the adherence to fair trial principles in his case.
In his audio message, expressing doubt about the possibility of achieving justice within the Iranian judicial system, he reiterated his innocence and hoped that the truth would eventually come to light.
His case is currently under review at the Supreme Court for the registered appeals and examination of the death sentence, and the fate of this political prisoner is tied to the outcome of this review.
