Asad Halafi, a 37-year-old Arab cultural activist, was arrested in the early hours of September 25 after Iranian security forces raided his home in the Goldasht neighborhood of Ahwaz.
According to reports from “Moj Ahwaz,” the IRGC intelligence forces entered Halafi’s home around 4 AM without a judicial warrant, creating an atmosphere of fear and panic. They searched the premises, confiscated some personal belongings, and subsequently detained him.
Halafi is married and a father of two. He previously managed the “Qaisar Studio” and was involved in cultural activities related to photography and filmmaking.
Local sources indicate that Halafi was also arrested approximately nine years ago due to his cultural activities and spent some time in detention. After his release on bail, he continued his activities freely but has not engaged in any formal work in recent years.
Days after Halafi’s arrest, judicial and security officials have yet to provide information regarding the reasons for his detention, potential charges, or his current location, and his family has not received any answers regarding his situation.
