“Taher Naqavi” and “Vaddood Asadi”, political prisoners in Evin Prison, are now completing the first month of their hunger strike, while their physical condition has reportedly become highly critical.
These two Azerbaijani political and human rights activists, who have been imprisoned for months due to their political and human rights activities, began their hunger strike in early Aban 1404 (October 23, 2025) in protest of the judicial process and prison conditions.
Their families and close associates report that the prisoners have had no access to adequate medical care, and the illnesses and complications resulting from the hunger strike have made their condition dangerously critical.
As Naqavi and Asadi’s health deteriorates, their families and supporters have gathered outside Evin Prison demanding the release of the political prisoners.
Additionally, Atilla Asadi, the son of Vaddood Asadi, has also begun a hunger strike in support of his father. The mother and sister of Taher Naqavi and the aunt of Vaddood Asadi have shared videos in Azerbaijani Turkish on social media, calling for justice and the release of their relatives.
